Overview
Manual cleaning of air ducts is a mundane and highly time consuming task, which has lead to disastrous accidents and unexpected overhead costs, and can be extremely detrimental to a duct cleaning professional’s health, especially in hazardous environments such as hospitals, or buildings where toxic substances are processed. Duct cleaning robots are the clear solution to these occupational hazards, and these products are on high demand by responsible duct cleaning professionals world-wide.
Hence, a series of robots were developed at IvLabs in collaboration with Ozone House of Nirmitee Group under the guidance of Dr. Shital Chiddarwar , Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, VNIT.
Robotic System
Scrubber & Sucker Bot
The robot is conducive for the environment where astringent floor scrubbing is essential. The dust can later be sucked by creating vacuum.
Brushed Bot
With its rotating arm, the robot is able to reach all corners of the duct. Also the arm can be used to overcome barriers in the duct.
Pneumatic Bot
The simplicity of handling Pneumatic Bot makes it ideal for a any layman worker. The high pressurized compressed air gushing haphazardly from the whips is able to remove even the toughest scales in the ducts.
Inspection Bot
Small, portable, wireless Bluetooth Control and Live video feed via Android App enables the operator to get the minute details of the duct before deciding the robotic system to be used.
Common Controller
A single controller to control all the scrubbing robots with live feed on screen perfects the robotic system for the industrial application.
Technology Transfer
The technology Robotic Cleaning System for internal cleaning of unit is secured under the Indian Patent Application No. 201621043891 dated Dec 22, 2016. The technology was eventually transferred to Nirmitee Group and incubated at Centre of Innovation (CIVN), VNIT Nagpur.
